Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde was delighted after their victory over Las Palmas.

Unai Gomez struck in the 94th minute for the 1-0 win.

Valverde said: "This year, in the same way as last year we lost them, we are getting points in the last minutes.

"We are pushing and this time we saw that we had a great team in front of us and their goalkeeper has been extraordinary.

"I have to suddenly take stock. From a professional point of view, the fact that Athletic is fighting and being in European positions from January 1 to December 31 is good for everyone. In general terms I am delighted with the team because both last season and this season the players gave everything.

"There are players who are going to grow more as time goes by.
