Atalanta's Troisi can push for WC squad with Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory head coach Ange Postecoglou is of the belief that James Troisi can give a good account of himself as he strives to receive a recall to the Australian national team.

The 25-year old midfielder has joined the Victory on a season-long loan from Italian club Atalanta and Postecoglou feels the A-League could be the perfect platform to launch an assault on the Socceroos squad ahead of Brazil 2014.

"He's a quality player and he's really hungry and motivated to do well," said Postecoglou. "Obviously the national team is on the horizon and the World Cup's on the horizon.

"He had a couple of fantastic years in Turkey (with Genclerbirligi and Kayserispor) and didn't get a lot of game time last year. I think he sees this as a place where he can sort of re-launch his career.

"We're pretty good at that and we've already proven ourselves at this football club. We can certainly help players who are ambitious and help them realize their dreams."
