Aston Villa's Fabian Delph believes that the calmness and experience of his national teammate Michael Carrick will help improve his game.
The 33-year old Manchester United midfielder made his first England appearance since October 2013 in Friday's 4-0 win over Lithuania.
Delph combined with Carrick and Jordan Henderson to form a three-men midfield in the Hodgson's 4-3-3 formation.
"I watched him over the years and I really admire the way he plays," said Delph.
"He is a great guy, he has been great with me and it was a pleasure to play with him the other night. He is calm in possession and he is an experienced head. It is definitely going to help me playing with him and hopefully I can pick up some things that he does and try to implement it in my own game."
Carrick's return from injury has played a huge part in Man Utd's turn in fortunes recently and the midfielder was hugely instrumental in Red Devils' impressive victories over Tottenham and Liverpool while impressing for Roy Hodgson's Three Lions.
