Aston Vila clash a 'huge game' for Liverpool - Ings

Liverpool striker Danny Ings admits that the home clash against Aston Villa this weekend is an enormous match for the club.

The Merseysiders currently sit 13th on the Premier League table following a run of four games without a win and any result other than a victory against Villa might prove to be a final nail in the coffin for manager Brendan Rodgers' spell at Anfield.

Of the enormity of the clash, Ings said: "It's a huge game.

"We are at home in front of our fans. It's massive but you approach it the same way with the same mentality and same style as any other game.

"I scored a couple against Villa last season – a header and a penalty. If I get the nod, I will work my socks off to try to get some more goals and help the team.

"I'm grateful for the opportunities the manager has given me. I'll keep my head down and work as hard as I can for him, the team and the fans."
