Arteta shows unity with Everton boss Moyes over recent displays

Everton boss David Moyes is angry over the Toffees poor star to the season, and midfielder Mikel Arteta can understand his frustration. The Merseysider's put in an abject display on Saturday as they went down 1-0 at home to Newcastle.

Everton are now second-bottom in the Premier League having only managed two points from their opening five games, despite an excellent 3-3 draw against Manchester United the previous week.

"The manager is not happy and he is right not to be. We have not been good enough," the 28 year old said in The Sun.

"Saturday's game was the worst we have played for a long time. I don't know how many times we mis-controlled the ball, gave it away and played ourselves into trouble.

"We seem to be chasing every game and we are lacking someone to put the ball in the net.

"The 3-3 draw with Manchester United felt like a victory but we have taken three steps backwards against Newcastle and now we have three away games."
