Arteta insists VAR robbed Arsenal victory against Sheffield Utd

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists VAR robbed them three points after their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

Gabriel Martinelli had opened the scoring for Arsenal from close range before the home side felt they should have had a penalty.

Nicolas Pepe went over after a challenge from Jack O'Connell but Mike Dean did not give the penalty before VAR failed to overturn the decision.

And Arteta was incensed at the final whistle after another decision went against his side, following the recent defeat to Chelsea.

He said: "I think it's very clear. It was the same as with Chelsea, very clear. I don't know how many tools do we need?

"If you don't score the second goal, the game is always open.

"I can't remember any shots from them until they scored the goal. We completely controlled the game before then but couldn't get the second goal."
