Jurrien Timber missed Ajax training on Sunday.
The defender is the subject of a £40m offer from Arsenal and is due to undergo a medical this week.
Timber was absent as Ajax's players for their first training session under new boss Maurice Steijn.
The defender has been training at Ajax to prepare for the Gunners medical, but did not take part in the squad session.
The Gunners are aiming to close an agreement in the coming days.
