Arsenal seek to sell Mustafi to fund new Bundesliga centre-half signing

Arsenal are prepared to sell Shkodran Mustafi this summer - so to fund their defensive overhaul.

The Daily Star says the Gunners will try to sell Mustafi this summer in order to land a top-quality centre-half.

The Germany international has been at the Emirates for two years.

But the £35m signing from Valencia has just endured a poor season personally for Arsenal.

And it appears the club are ready to cash in on the 26-year-old as they look to raise funds.

Unai Emery has a limited summer budget after Arsenal broke their transfer record twice last term on Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Defensive targets have been identified with Caglar Soyuncu (Freiburg), Benjamin Pavard (Stuttgart) and Abdou Diallo (Mainz) liked.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos is already expected to sign from Borussia Dortmund for around £16m.
