Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to sign free agent Lassana Diarra according to reports.
The Daily Express suggests that the Gunners are looking to complete a deal for the 29-year old French midfielder who was released by Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this summer.
Wenger's side were brushed aside by Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in Tuesday night's Champions League opener and it is believed that he wants to add some extra depth and muscle by bringing Diarra back to north London.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Anzhi Makhachkala man first joined the Gunners in the summer of 2007 but left for Portsmouth just six months later and now could be set for a return to his old club.
