Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is happy for the club to ride out the backlash from their Super League involvement convinced the riches due will be worth it.

Football.london says Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) believe the competition can extend the global brand of Arsenal and the financial gains in the long run will be worth the negative PR.

The Arsenal Supporters Trust have released a statement speaking out against Kroenke and the latest decision of the much-maligned owner.

The statement reads: “This represents the death of everything that football should be about.

“As fans we want to see Arsenal play in competitions based on sporting merit and competitive balance.

“Not surprisingly this action has been taken with no consultation or dialogue, continuing the silence and contempt that Kroenke has shown for Arsenal supporters since day one."
