Arsenal midfielder Odegaard declares he wants captaincy

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard admits he'd like the club captaincy.

The Norway skipper is favourite for the armband, with manager Mikel Arteta to soon select the new captain.

Odegaard said, "It's not something I think about. I think about the future and doing my best, so we'll see what happens. I always enjoy the responsibility. I'm the captain of my country (Norway) and it's a good experience, so I enjoy it.

"I don't know anything about the situation here, I think that question is for Mikel (Arteta) and the club, but if he asked me, of course I would be happy to do it.

"I think you will see a hungry Arsenal team."
