Arsenal legend Thierry Henry chasing Belgium job

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is keen on the Belgium job.

Henry has been the assistant coach of the Red Devils twice - most recently since 2021 - but it's understood he now wishes to step up his role and is prepared to earn less than Roberto Martinez's millions to do so.

Although he has not officially applied for the role, he has informally declared his intentions to lead the national team, says HLN.

It's understood that Henry earned around £88,500 in his first stint as assistant coach - which all went to charity.

This compares to Martinez - who was also the technical director - who earned around £2.65m-a-year including bonuses.

The Belgian reports suggest that whoever secures the role will almost certainly earn less - but this is something that would not deter Henry.
