Arsenal in Wilshere talks about top coaching role

Jack Wilshere is in talks with Arsenal about an academy coaching role.

Wilshere announced his retirement today at the age of 30.

The Athletic reports Arsenal are set to hand him his first coaching role after hanging up his boots.

After the club lost Dan Micciche - who joined Under-23s coach Kevin Betsy at Crawley Town - the Gunners have been seeking a new Under-18s coach and see Wilshere as the ideal candidate.

Adam Birchall - who coaches the Arsenal Under-14s - and former Arsenal star Julian Grey are thought to be lined up as Wilshere's assistants.
