Arsenal goalkeeper Tom Smith pens pro terms

Arsenal goalkeeper Tom Smith has signed pro terms.

Smith has won his first professional contract after his starring performances last season.

The 17-year-old was a vital part of the club's U-18 side that won the league last term.

The youngster - who has featured for the U23s - joined non-league side Salisbury at the start of the campaign.

But he returned to London Colney after he picked up an injury that is expected to keep him out of action for up to another two months.

In a statement released by the Gunners, Arsenal said: "Young goalkeeper Tom Smith has signed his first professional contract with the club."
