Arsenal field fifth-straight unchanged line-up for first time in 21 years

Arsene Wenger selected the same starting Arsenal XI for the fifth match in a row on Monday night.

The eleven players put on the pitch for the clash with Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium made it the first time since 1994 that the Gunners have used the same personnel for five-straight Premier League matches.

Arsenal's line-up for the Swans meeting consisted of:

Davis Ospina, Hector Bellerin, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud and had won three and drawn one of its previous four matches.

The team of 21 years ago featured David Seaman in goal, Steve Bould and Tony Adams in defence, Ray Parlour in midfield and Ian Wright in attack and produced two wins and three draws from December 19, 1993 and January 22, 1994.

Unfortunately for Wenger, Arsenal lost 1-0 after Bafetimbi Gomis scored in the 85th minute in north London.
