Arsenal face a battle to convince Thomas Partey about leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.

Partey has a release clause of around £43million in his current contract although Atletico are attempting to pen him to fresh terms.

Diego Simeone does not want to lose another key midfielder after watching Rodri leave for Manchester City a year ago.

But Marca says that Partey's priority is to remain at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The defensive midfielder, currently under contract with Atletico until 2023, has a lot of respect and gratitude to the Spanish capital club.

That's because Atletico were the first outfit to offer Partey an opportunity to play football in Europe.
