Arsenal are confident of signing Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez.

The Mirror says Arsenal have made a move to hijack Everton's £17m move for Perez.

Everton had agreed a deal and even personal terms but Arsenal came in last night for the 27-year-old.

Perez scored 17 goals last season and earned rave reviews despite Deportivo La Coruna struggling against relegation.

Perez is now in advanced negotiations with Arsenal and they are very hopeful of completing the deal.
