Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes that winger Nicholas Pepe must be ready to help the team when selected.
The winger has been in and out of the starting line-up during Arteta's entire tenure at the club.
A big money signing from Lille in 2019, Pepe has failed to reach the expected heights at the club.
He did score in a 5-1 win over Sunderland in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday.
Arteta told the club website on Pepe: "It is hard for everyone who doesn't play.
"What they have to do is when they have the minutes, show on the pitch that "they can do it and they are ready when the team needs him."
