Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was happy after their preseason draw with AS Monaco at Emirates stadium.
The Gunners drew 1-1 before winning the post-match penalty shootout.
Youssef Fofana put ASM ahead before captain for the day Eddie Nketiah found an equaliser.
Arteta later said: "Very good. Especially for a lot of players who haven't had many minutes and as well for the new players to play in the Emirates it was special. You could feel the atmosphere and how excited the fans were.
"In terms of the game we struggled to dominate it as much as we want. We had much better periods in the second half. I think we were still a bit leggy and jet-lagged. We trained really hard over the last three days to be fair. We wanted that test for them as well to see how we compete when we're not fresh enough to compete. So it was a good test and happy with the outcome.
"There were a lot of changes and you can see sometimes when we were arriving and the timing in the dynamic it wasn't perfect and how we allowed certain spaces when we have time on the ball and then how we defend open spaces. But we will adjust."
