Arsenal and Barcelona are haggling over who will pay Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's salary.

The 32-year-old is keen on joining Barca, who want to sign him on a short-term loan deal.

But Aubameyang's £250k-per-week wages is proving a stumbling block in negotiations.

ESPN says Barca have told Arsenal they can only pay a small portion of Aubameyang's wages.

The loan deal would not include an option to buy.

Gabon international Aubameyang is out of favour with Mikel Arteta after he was stripped of the captaincy in December following a dislplincary breach.

The potential departure of Ousmane Dembele - who is close to joining PSG - could help Barca cover more of Aubameyang's wages.

Arsenal are prepared to part with Aubameyang even if they can't sign a replacement before Monday's transfer deadline.
