Arianna Mihajlovic has revealed how Bologna paid out in full the contract of Sinisa Mihajlovic after his passing.

Bologna sacked Mihajlovic in an emotional decision just weeks before the Serb passed away. However, wife Arianna says the club made sure his contract was completely paid out.

Arianna recalled to Il Messaggero: "Sinisa didn't expect it and he was very upset about it, after all he had also said it. He would never have resigned, he wanted to continue because his desire to fight was unique.

"Bologna chose another path and I can't judge: they honoured my husband's salary until the contract expired. An extraordinary gesture, which in a moment of confusion gave me some security.

"The president Saputo, Bergamini, Fenucci, Marchetti, Di Vaio: no one has forgotten me, a special club and a special city. Even with Sabatini there was a crazy relationship."

Two of Mihajlovic's former clubs, Lazio and Bologna, meet this weekend.

Arianna also said: "I know, it's Sinisa's match, I'll go back to the stadium and get back to the football I moved away from. My boys are also interested in it, they're die-hard fans of the Biancoceleste team."
