Argentina U23 coach Fernando Batista says Lautaro Martinez wanted to leave Inter Milan last season.

The Inter striker is the subject of intense negotiations with Barcelona.

“I remember that once I went to see him and he wanted to leave because he didn't play much," Batista revealed.

Batista was referring to Lautaro's first season with Inter after his move from Racing.

Lautaro is currently tied to Inter until 2023.
