Andy Hughes' departure from Sheffield United has been confirmed.

The Blades' U23 coach has announced his decision to leave.

Hughes, 42, joined the Blades last August, replacing Travis Binnion, who had also doubled up as Academy Manager.

A veteran of more than 500 senior games, Hughes had previously been first-team coach at Huddersfield Town.

Hughes posted a farewell message to the Blades on social media.

“I'd like to thank everyone [at United] from the top class manager, first team coaches and staff, academy coaches and players, all the way down to the U9 coach and staff at Shirecliffe, for my time," Hughes said. “I wish the club well for the future."
