Anderson set for rare Man Utd start

Anderson is set to make his second start for Manchester United tomorrow against Wigan Athletic.

With Michael Carrick out with an elbow injury, Ryan Giggs is now likely to partner Paul Scholes in the centre of midfield against Wigan tomorrow, with £19million summer signing Anderson set to make only his second Premier League start.

United manger Sir Alex Ferguson is already without midfield trio Owen Hargreaves, Darren Fletcher and Ji-Sung Park, as well as keeper Edwin van der Sar.

Defenders Gary Neville and Wes Brown are also sidelined and the news that Carrick will be out until mid-November will stretch United's squad to the limit.
