Sheffield United midfielder David Carney is trialling with Anderlecht. Carney is not in Blades boss Kevin Blackwell's plans for the new season and failed to make an impression last term at relegated Norwich City.

The Australia international is now trialling with Anderlecht in the hope of winning a deal.

Anderlecht have also been linked with Middlesbrough's Australia international fullback Rhys Williams.

Williams is seen by Anderlecht management as a potential replacement for the unsettled Jelle van Damme.
