Ander Herrera insists 'mature' Rashford ready to lead Man Utd

Ander Herrera believes Marcus Rashford has matured and will play a leading role for Manchester United for years to come.

The 22-year-old forward was enjoying his best season yet before injuring his back against Wolves in January.

And Herrera says his former United teammates is desperate to bring titles to Old Trafford.

"I think his maturity is good, it's bigger now," said Herrera.

"He's a United supporter since he was a kid and I think he really suffers when things don't go well with the club, because we have won some titles in the last few years but Manchester United haven't fought for the [Premier League] title in the last years - and that's painful for Manchester United fans, I understand.

"As a player and a guy that really loves the passion of the fans, I also suffer a lot. So I think Marcus is trying to lead the team to the next level. He has everything to do it: he has the quality, the capacity and he has the mentality to do it.

"I'm optimistic because I think they have signed some players who can bring the team back to the Premier League title race, at least."
