Alisson has revealed that Liverpool held an interest in him prior to the Champions League final.
It has been the common perception that the Reds chose to focus on a goalkeeper in the transfer market after Loris Karius horror show against Real Madrid in Kiev.
They ended up breaking a world-record to sign Alisson from Roma, and the Brazilian says it was a long process.
"As far as I know, Liverpool already had an interest in the season I made," Brazilian outlet Globo Esportevia SportWitness.
"It was already in their plans to go after another goalkeeper. I don't know if it was a turning point or not. I can say that I made the right choice and that today I am in the Champions League final and having one of the biggest campaigns of Liverpool in the Premier League, having almost won the title, very close to City."
