The Sun says he missed United training today - to make a trip to the US Embassy in London.
Sanchez is desperately trying to prove his worth to boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in case a move away from Old Trafford falls through this month.
But he was absent this morning as the rest of the squad prepared for this weekend's clash at home to Crystal Palace - leaving him further away from a first-team chance.
Instead he was in the queue at the new American Embassy in Battersea attempting to sort out a visa for visiting the States.
Sanchez is expected to be part of the Chile squad which is due to play a friendly against Argentina in Los Angeles next month.
And he needed to queue up along with the rest of the applicants this morning, looking to get the clearance needed to enter the country.
United granted him permission to travel down to London instead of training with the rest of the squad, with his future at the club up in the air.
