Ajax midfielder Henderson breaks silence on his critics

Jordan Henderson has shrugged off local criticism of his start with Ajax.

Ajax haven't won since former Liverpool captain Henderson's arrival in January.

"That's football," he told NOS. "There are always different opinions and that really doesn't bother me. We have to deal with it and maintain our focus."

The 33-year-old playmaker is also unimpressed by the criticism of the team.

“The boys really want to improve. It's a new team, so it's normal for them to have ups and downs. It takes time, but hopefully we can improve soon. We are part of a big club.

“The players are so young. I try to keep things positive in such a difficult situation."
