Ajax chief exec Edwin van der Sar is being linked with Edu's job at Arsenal.

With the Gunners in freefall, Edu's choices in the transfer market are under scrutiny and it's been suggested the Brazilian's position is now being questioned.

Voetbak Nieuws says Arsenal's board are now sending out feelers for a potential replacement - and contact with Van der Sar has been made.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper has also been linked with his former club, where there's mooted plans of creating a technical director's position next year.

Along with Van der Sar, Ajax football director Marc Overmars is also expected to leave the club this summer.
