Aitor Paredes has signed a new deal with Athletic Bilbao.

The wing-back has penned a new contract to 2029.

Mikel González, Athletic's general director of football, said: "It is very positive news to be able to continue counting on a player from Biscay, who is young and who is performing at a very high level in contexts of maximum difficulty."

He adds that Paredes is “an example because he entered Lezama in the first recruitment and has gone all the way to the first team. He is a 100% Athletic central profile in the model we are looking for. He is strong, aggressive, fast and with a lot of ability to defend forward.

"In addition, he has clarity at the beginning of the game and ease of acting on the left flank being right-footed."
