The agent of Stefan de Vrij admits he chose to stay with Inter Milan ahead of offers from Saudi Arabia.

The Dutchman was coming off contract last season before committing to a new deal.

Federico Pastorello told TMW: “Stefan was smart to accept Inter's offer.

“De Vrij chose to accept the renewal precisely because he knew that there would be plenty of space for him.

“Stefan had offers from the Saudi Pro League. We are talking about a very important offer, especially for the duration, given that there was a four-year contract on the table.

“However, Stefan wanted to stay in Europe because he feels he can still give a lot. We have also had other approaches, some have asked for information, as in the case of Acerbi."
