Young left-back Nuno Tavares is eager to stay at Arsenal despite a lack of game time.

The Portuguese flier is not first choice in the plans of manager Mikel Arteta.

Having arrived in 2021 from Benfica, Tavares struggled in his first season, resulting in a loan move to Marseille last term.

The player's agent Cesar Bonaventura told Turkish journalist Tibet Tore that he wants to stay.

Bonaventura said: “Nuno is still under contract at Arsenal. He wants to stay in the team but we'll see what happens in the future."

The Gunners presently have Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the left-back position.
