The agent of Gigi Buffon has explained his decision to return to Parma.

The 43-year-old has signed a 12 month deal with Parma after coming off contract with Juventus.

“He liked the idea, he had received many offers, but only Parma seemed the ideal solution to close the circle. Honestly, I am not surprised, that's how he is," agent Silvano Martina told Parmalive.

“He has great memories about Parma, he is going to give his best, I can't predict the future, but I hope Serie B is transitory, just like it happened with Juventus. It's a long and challenging league, many clubs took a while to return to Serie A."
