The agent of Chris Smalling says AS Roma have no option to extend his contract.

The defender's current deal is due to expire in June.

“AS Roma have no option within the contract. Contract expires June 2023," agent James Featherstone told transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano.

Featherstone reiterated that Smalling was feeling “very positive" about the club, the fans and the city after winning the Conference League last season.

Smalling orginally signed for Roma in 2019 from Manchester United for €3m.
