After Pochettino Benfica turn to ex-Arsenal boss Emery

Benfica are working the North London market as they seek a new manager.

Luís Filipe Vieira, the Benfica president, is seeking to replace Bruno Lage.

O Jogo says the Portuguese giants have made a move for former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. However, the Argentine has resisted the approach.

His agent Jorge Mendes informed Vieira that the terms on the table fell well short of the €9ma-a-year Spurs are still paying Pochettino.

Now Vieira have turned to sacked Arsenal boss Unai Emery - with Mendes working as an intermediary.

The super agent also takes care of Lage and talks over a contract termination will continue today.
