Adelaide United's Pantelis proud of reaching 100 game milestone

Adelaide United vice-captain Lucas Pantelis was very proud after he reached the 100-game milestone for the club on Tuesday.

The 28-year old notched up the ton in the Asian Champions League match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan and despite his side going down 1-0, he was happy to have achieved the milestone with his hometown club.

"Playing 100 games for one club is kind of special and to do it with Adelaide United, a team in my home town is very special," Pantelis said.

"I had a year off with my knee reconstruction, so to finally get there is probably a real achievement."

Pantelis said his biggest personal highlight had been the fact he was the club's leading scorer on two separate occasions but said the lack of silverware at the club was not as pleasing.

"I've been very proud to have been the leading scorer at the club twice so that's probably a highlight, as well as that run we had in 2008 with the ACL Final and the Hyundai A-League Grand Final," Pantelis said.

"But there's still no silverware so I'm still very motivated to win something with Adelaide United."
