AC Milan great Paolo Maldini has sung the praises of defensive pair Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori.
The pair played key roles in last season's Scudetto triumph.
Nesta said, “For me, Milan have signed functional players based on how they want to play. They want to press high and to be close to their opponents.
"Therefore, they need good players, to work on them and improve them. As such, Tomori and Kalulu are two perfect profiles for Milan, that's why the tactical part goes hand in hand with mercato strategy."
On today's clash with Roma, he also said: “The most important characteristic for a defender is to be concentrated for so many minutes and for so many games. I think Roma lacks this a bit. They have strong players, but every now and then they still don't have the necessary concentration to avoid conceding goals."
