AC Milan director Paolo Maldini has been angered by comments made by Ralf Rangnick over the weekend.
The Red Bull football boss is a target for Milan chief exec Ivan Gazidis and discussed the potential role on the weekend.
For his part, Maldini was unimpressed, telling ANSA: "We're looking to end the season in a professional way putting the club's good before pride.
"Having never spoken to Rangnick, I don't understand on what basis his statements are based, also because I have never been told anything by the owner."
Rangnick could replace coach Stefano Pioli next season, though also may arrive to take Maldini's job.
