AC Milan chiefs are reluctant to lose defender Adil Rami next month.

Manchester United are chasing the France international, says the Gazzetta dello Sport, for the January market.

It's been mooted United intended to recall Javier Hernandez from his loan with Real Madrid and include the Mexico international in their offer for Rami.

However, TMW says Milan management are reluctant to do business over the Frenchman as he's become indispensable for coach Pippo Inzaghi.

Rami, 29, penned a three-year deal with Milan in June.
