Aaron Ramsey facing axe from Juventus Champions League squad

Aaron Ramsey is fighting for his place in Juventus' Champions League squad.

The Daily Mail says Maurizio Sarri is ready to axe the former Arsenal star with injuries limiting him to just five appearances this season.

Ramsey, 28, joined Juve on a free transfer when his Gunners deal expired last summer, penning a contract worth a staggering £400,000-a-week.

Juve's lack of home-grown players meant Emre Can, formerly of Liverpool, was among those who was not included in Sarri's European group.

However, Ramsey has played just 15 minutes in Juve's opening three games against Atletico Madrid, Lokomotiv Moscow and Bayer Leverkusen.

Ironically, Can has remained injury-free and is able to provide cover in midfield and defence.

And Sarri is apparently ready to bring the German in from the cold when Champions League registration reopens in February, at the expense of crock flop Ramsey.
