The 21-year-old has played twice in Premier League 2 for the Albion.

He will now get a chance to show his quality in the National League.

Albion under-23 coach Simon Rusk said of the move: "James benefited from spending the second half of last season playing in Ireland's top division, and now he'll get a taste of senior football in England.

"The National League will provide a different kind of test for James, which can only be a good thing.

"Yeovil will be hoping to bounce back after dropping out of the Football League, and it's a great challenge and opportunity for James to take on."

DONE DEAL: Southampton signed Yeovil goalkeeper Tommy Scott
Southampton have signed young goalkeeper Tommy Scott from Yeovil Town.

The 19-year-old has penned a one-year contract at St Mary's.
Read more on Tribal Football Southampton have signed young goalkeeper Tommy Scott from Yeovil Town.

The 19-year-old has penned a one-year contract at St Mary's.

During his time as a scholar at The Glovers, Scott gained valuable experience around the first team squad and appeared on the bench on six separate occasions, most recently on the final day of the 2018/19 campaign against Carlisle United.

Scott told the club's website: It's a great club to come to and I'm happy to be here and finally get settled in to get ready to go for the season.

I think that's what really sold it to me; the staff, everyone is polite, it's always friendly and you're learning every day. The facilities speak for themselves really so there's nothing not to like.

You only have to look at some of the players that have come through the Academy and gone on to the world stage internationally and at the biggest clubs in the world.

You can see the young players here playing and they're not only coming on but starting, especially in pre-season. That gives you a boost because you think 'if they can do it, why can't I?'

I just want to become the best I can be, work and prove to the club and everyone around that I deserve to be here. I want to be here for as long as I can and make the most out of the training."

Brighton have signed Crofts for a third spell at the club.

But he won't play for the first-team. Instead, he's joining as an U23 player-coach.

This is an innovative step, and we are delighted to have Andrew on board," Seagulls chief Dan Ashworth said

Firstly as a coach, following Liam Rosenior's move to Derby County, and he will become part of our U23 coaching team, working with Simon and his assistant Shannon Ruth.

"Secondly, the thinking behind the playing role is to have someone of his experience out there on the pitch alongside our younger players, and to impart that crucial knowledge he has gained from his time in the game."

Crofts was with Yeovil Town last season.

Bellis, a versatile striker who can also play in wide positions, has completed a move away from boyhood club Manchester City, while attacking midfielder Rus has arrived from Yeovil Town.

Both will continue their development as part of Saints' Under-18s set-up, led by Paul Hardyman, and have the chance to challenge for a place in the team that competes in the Under-18s Premier League on Saturday mornings.

Academy Director Matt Hale said: "We are delighted to welcome both Sam and Marco to the club from Manchester City and Yeovil respectively.

Both players have been signed as a result of our diligent talent ID and recruitment process, having monitored both closely for some time.

Sam is an exciting forward player with good movement and strong potential. We were competing with many top clubs for his signature and we are delighted he chose us.

Marco, having been at Yeovil for the past four years, has a real hunger and desire to succeed. He is a clever, tricky player who will offer creativity to the Under-18s group.

We look forward to seeing both players grow and learn under the guidance of our coaching staff during their first year at the club."

DONE DEAL: Wolves sign Yeovil teenager Hong Wan
Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Hong Wan from Yeovil Town.

The 18-year-old has impressed with the Yeovil under-18s, becoming their captain after a move from the Charlton Athletic academy.
Read more on Tribal Football Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Hong Wan from Yeovil Town.

The 18-year-old has impressed with the Yeovil under-18s, becoming their captain after a move from the Charlton Athletic academy.

However, his stay at the club will be a short one, as he has agreed to join Wolves and take part in their under-23 setup.

Academy chief Scott Sellars said of the move: "With every player we look at bringing in to the academy, first and foremost they must have the ability.

"Hong's been training with us recently and definitely has the ability, but he also has a great personality and clearly loves playing football.

"We're hoping he's going to bring these qualities to Wolves and expect him to fit in well with the programme we have in place in the academy.

"Throughout the academy, we have an objective to develop players not just for the first-team at Wolves, but also for a future career in professional football, and due to our ownership under Fosun, there is a large emphasis on developing young and talented Chinese players.

"In all aspects, this deal works for everybody as we are bringing in a player who we believe has a lot of potential and we can also give him the time at Wolves which he needs to develop into a promising player."
