Federici's omission follows the Reading goalkeeper's high-profile gaffe against Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final last month.<p>The majority of the 23-man squad named on Monday were a part of the triumphant Asian Cup campaign, with Postecoglou noting that Australia will need to put in a strong performance to get a victory against the 153rd ranked nation in the world.<p>"We go to Bishkek with the utmost respect for Kyrgyzstan and we know that we will have to be at our best to get off to a winning start," Postecoglu said.<p>"No Australian football team has ever been to Kyrgyzstan so we have done a lot of research, including a reconnaissance trip to Bishkek, to make sure we are well prepared for what will not be an easy task.<p>"This is the start of the next chapter in our journey and we are all excited about what lies ahead over the next two years. A lot can happen - especially with the World Cup so close now - and you never know what the future holds.<p>"It is never easy coming to Europe and making an impression. The Swiss League is getting stronger now with two Champions League spots and at Luzern we're now in the qualifying rounds for next season's Europa League.<p>"I have a contract until the end of next season and if I can do well then maybe some possibilities will open up for me beyond that."<p>Former Central Coast Mariners star Bozanic joined Luzern in June 2013 and has since scored six goals in 31 appearances for the Swiss Super League outfit. <p>&nbsp;For breaking stories and all the great banter like us on Facebook: <a href=></a></p></p><a href=''>Read more on Tribal Football</a> Fri, 23 May 2014 04:36:15 +1000 <![CDATA[NYRB star, Palace skipper, Brugge keeper in Australia squad]]> <p>Australia boss Ange Postecoglou has named a 30-man provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.<p>The Socceroos head coach has announced a list of 15 Europe-based players with 10 from A-League clubs and the remaining five from Asia, the Middle East and the USA.<p>Australia's all-time leading goalscorer Tim Cahill (New York Red Bulls) has been included as expected while fellow usual suspects Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow) and Mark Bresciano (Al Gharafa) have been included.<p>Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak has been named and is expected to lead the team in Brazil despite sustaining a groin injury on the weekend.<p>Other English-based players include Massimo Luongo (Swindon Town) and Bailey Wright (Preston North End) with the latter gaining his first call-up. It's very tight," he told<p>"It would be a massive achievement to qualify for Europe obviously from last season when the club finished eighth out of ten. But at the moment it's just taking it one game at a time. We go into every game winning, we don't go up against the so-called games to lose. We don't need to look too far ahead to get back on track."<p>Bozanic, who made his debut for the Socceroos in October last year, was also striving to force his way into Ange Postecoglou's squad for Brazil 2014.<p>"I've been very happy to part of the Socceroos for the last two camps and I hope to get another opportunity in March (against Ecuador)," Bozanic added.<p>"It was always my dream to play for the Socceroos.
