The 22-year-old right winger will be with the Scottish club until January.

Stobbs first played for Sheffield United in 2014, but has only managed five first team appearances since then.

He will be hoping to gain regular first team football at Livingston.

Stobbs was last on loan at Port Vale, where he played eight games in League One in 2017.

The winger is also capable of playing as a central striker.

The Scottish side were in the market for a new keeper, while Sarkic wanted a move as he would get first team experience.

With Villa now in the Premier League, it seemed as though he would not get that chance at his parent club next term.

Now he has completed his loan move for the 2019-2020 season.

Manager Gary Holt said on the official Livingston website: "Between myself, Davie and GK Coach Tony Caig we feel we have brought a fantastic keeper to the club in Matija, he hasn't played a-lot of first team football but comes to us highly recommended and we have done our research on the lad which all came back very positive.

"We feel that this move is a win-win for all parties: Matija will get some much needed game time and we are getting a GK which realistically would have been a good bit out-with our wage structure.

"Matija will come in and push for the number 1 Jersey vacated by Liam and between Matija and Ross I feel we are more than covered and I feel confident going into the season that we have 2 keepers that would be fantastic number 1's.

"Competition for places is extremely healthy and is no different from any other position at the club, they need to work hard and make the jersey their own.

"Throughout preseason and into the Betfred cup section the fans will get a chance to see both lads in action."

The Daily Record says the 51-year-old England and Arsenal legend has made contact with the Lions to declare an interest in replacing Kenny Miller.

Adams has been in Edinburgh this week promoting his new book 'Sober' and was alerted to the vacancy in West Lothian.

He is attempting to return to management for the first time since a seven-game spell in caretaker charge of Spanish outfit Granada in 2017 ended with a relegation from La Liga.

Adams's coaching career also includes stints at Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth as well as a role as sporting director with Chinese Super League side Chongqing Dangdai.

However, it's also understood that former Falkirk manager Gary Holt and ex-Queen of the South gaffer Gavin Skelton remain the frontrunners for the vacant post at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd will NOT sign Livingston striker Matthew Knox
Manchester United will not be signing Matthew Knox from Livingston anytime soon.

The 17-year-old striker recently underwent his third trial with the Red Devils following two previous experiences at the Carrington academy.
Read more on Tribal Football Manchester United will not be signing Matthew Knox from Livingston anytime soon.

The 17-year-old striker recently underwent his third trial with the Red Devils following two previous experiences at the Carrington academy.

Reports last week indicated that United were set to make a 150,000 bid for the Scotland U17 international but a source has told Tribalfootball that the third trial only came about because the player was injured during his second spell.

It is understood that United simply wanted to give Knox another chance to prove himself, and there will be no offer forthcoming for the talented youngster.

"Knox is only back at United because he got inured last trial," said the source.

"They will never sign him."

Last season, Livingston turned down an offer from Scottish giants Rangers for Knox because it did not meet their hefty valuation, and his form in the current campaign indicates perhaps he is not yet ready to move to a club such as United.

"No one is going to pay the money they (Livi) want," the source added.

"Especially how he's now a year older and not getting a game in a league below."

Knox played seven times in the Scottish Championship last term but has only featured on thee occasions in League One under David Hopkin.

Knox told the Daily Record earlier this month that he was waiting to see what comes of his time spent with Nicky Butt's U23 side at United.

United trialist Knox says fellow Scot Tierney has a big decision to make.

The Celtic star is said to be on Jose Mourinho's wish list as he freshens up his squad.

Knox told the Daily Record: "Would he be prepared to go from being a first-team player at Celtic to being a Manchester United Under-23s player with the ambition of playing in the first team? That's the question he'll have to ask himself.

"It would take a bit of convincing to get him to go and play youth football again."

The Daily Mail says United will take a third look at Scottish teenager Matthew Knox as they ponder a 150,000 transfer.

The 17-year-old forward broke on to the scene for Livingston when he made his first-team debut just over a year ago on Boxing Day 2015 against St Mirren.

Rangers had a 75,000 offer rejected for him in the summer and Livingston hope United will cement their interest with a bid this month should Knox impress again this week.

The teenager, who started training with United on Monday, has made seven first-team appearances this season but has been hindered by niggly injuries. If United take him on he will join up with their Elite Development Squad.
