Premiere League – Manchester City v Crystal Palace Match Predictions [12 April 2025]

This Saturday, Manchester City will host Crystal Palace at the Etihad in the lunchtime kickoff. The home side have had an underwhelming season by their standards, but are still in the running for a Champions League place.

The visitors head into this one as the form team, having won four of their last five, leaving them with an outside chance of landing European football next season. As part of my match preview, I’ll give you my top betting tip for this match, with odds from Stake.com.

Before I get into my preview and predictions, here are the key facts about the match:

Match preview – A tough one to call

In a normal season, this fixture would be seen as a gimmie for Pep’s all-conquering City side. But it’s been an underwhelming campaign for The Cityzens, who currently sit in 6th place.

In contrast, Palace have been in great form of late, winning four of their last five games. They sit 11th on 43 points after 30 games. This leaves them with an outside chance of getting European football.

However, I think the eight-point gap will prove too much for Oliver Glasner’s side in the run-in, even though they have a game in hand on the teams above them.

Man City – Top-four hopes still alive

Manchester City are still very much in the running for the Top 4, as they are just a point behind Newcastle and Chelsea, the two teams above them. However, their form has still been shaky of late, with just two wins in their last five.

Despite this poor season by the incredibly high bar they’ve set in recent times, Haaland still finds himself the second-top sorcerer in the league with 21 goals. Somewhat understandably, they are still priced as favorites, with Stake.com at odds of 1.55.

Crystal Palace – finishing the season on a high

After a poor start to the Season, Glasner’s men have been in scintillating form since the turn of the year. I’ve already mentioned their recent record of four wins in five – with the other game being a draw.

What’s more impressive though, is their away form. The Eagles have won seven of their last 10 away games, drawing two, and losing just one, which was at home to second-placed Arsenal. To me, their 5.60 outsider price at Stake.com is pretty generous.
