Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo, full name Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester United. Ronaldo is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time, having returned to Manchester United and the Premier League in 2021 after leaving the club in 2009 for Rea Madrid.

Regarding individual awards, Ronaldo has won the Ballon d'Or five times and four European Golden Shoes - a record for a European. Playing for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, Ronaldo has won 32 titles, including seven league trophies, five UEFA Champions League titles and with Portugal he won the UEFA European Championship in 2016 and the UEFA Nations League in 2019.

Ronaldo began his professional career with Sporting Lisbon, before joining Manchester United in 2003 at 18 years of age. Cristiano spent six years at Old Trafford before leaving for La Liga giants Real Madrid, where he spent nine years. Ronaldo moved to the Serie A and Juventus in 2018, where he spent three years before returning to the Premier League and Manchester United in 2021.

Ronaldo was added to Cristiano's name by his father, José Dinis Aveiro, in honour of former US President Ronald Reagan. Ronaldo underwent a minor heart operation at the age of 15 and began his junior career with Clube Desportivo Nacional of Madeira before moving to Sporting CP, where he made his first team debut in 2002.

He is well known for his low-key charity work, with Ronaldo regularly contributing to causes and individuals with no attached publicity.

Ronaldo is the father of six children. His oldest, Cristiano Jr, was born in the USA and currently plays for the Manchester United academy, having also featured for Juventus. Ronaldo is in a long-term relationship with Georgina Rodríguez.
