Villarreal midfielder Francis Coquelin's season has been declared over.
The Frenchman has suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days.
This has been confirmed by Villarreal, after announcing the results of medical tests that the player underwent yesterday and this morning.
The tests have certified that he suffered said anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee, an injury that forces him to undergo surgery and miss at least the next six months.
Coquelin was injured in a clash with Blaugrana midfielder Franck Kessié during Villarreal's defeat on Saturday.
