Valencia coach Ruben Baraja has admitted he expects a battle this season.
Baraja concedes they won't challenge for a top four finish.
He said: "We cannot deceive people and say that we are going to play in the Champions League.
"I know fans would like to have another Valencia, but we have to be aware of the reality that we are experiencing right now in the club.
"What we have said. One of the things is to be honest about the club's objectives at the moment. The market has caused the club to do an analysis and comment on the objective, thinking about where we came from.
"The minimum objective is to try to keep Valencia in the Primera Division. From there, we don't give up anything, we want to improve and make the team grow."
