Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson is being lined up for a return to France.

The former Olympique Marseille star has found playing chances limited under Villa manager Steven Gerrard.

Foot Mercato says Sanson hasn't ruled out leaving Villa Park at the end of the season.

Watching closely are Nantes, which would be open to taking the player on-loan.

Sanson has a contract with Villa to 2025.
