The Morocco international is out of Sunday's squad for their clash with Lecce.
And Viola chief Joe Barone has publicly encouraged United to bid for the midfielder.
Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio is reporting United want to sign Amrabat and intend to bid for the player.
Fiorentina wish to sell for £25-30m.
